Rules and Expectations

Students are expected to be on time to class with all necessary materials, to have all work completed at the beginning of class, and to participate appropriately in class.  Students should follow all rules posted in the classroom, in the school handbook, and any adjustments thereof given by those in authority.

Grades

Most assignments and in-class activities will receive an effort grade, which individually go into the computer as a grade.  Assignments will also be given a full grade based on the number of points it is worth.

Effort

Effort grades are based on completion and effort put into the assignment or in-class activity.  Five points maximum, and adjusted based on completion and appropriate participation.  If an assignment is not ready in class at the time the grade is collected, it will be inputted as a zero until the assignment is turned in.  One point will be deducted for lateness.

Late Work

Late work will be deducted one point per day past due, but no more than five points.  Late work will be accepted until the end of each quarter.  Three late assignments are free, but after three, each additional late assignment results in a detention.

Detentions

Slips will be sent home informing students and parents of detentions once they have been earned.  Detentions will be served on an agreed upon date after school until 4:15 or before school from 8:00 until 8:45.  It is expected that students complete any missing work for any classes during detentions, then work on any current work or help around the school.
